Romance with Spice

Memories are part of you...

And Dace will show Sara exactly where those memories lay, inch by inch across her body...

Sex Between Strangers is the story of Sara and Dace. Dace donated his body so someone else could have a second chance, but the ex-Marine is nothing what Sara expected. He's sweet and loves her black lab Duncan--and is nothing like what she expected.

Excerpt # 1

“Sara,” he exhaled, a hiss of her name spoken into her ear. His finger slipped past the elastic of her panties and traced a secret language on her skin. Eyes closed, she breathed him in, inhaled his every breath to make certain she had part of him with her at all times, both inside and out.

“We should go back inside,” she whispered. “We’re…a little exposed.”

He smiled, kissed her eyes and forehead. “We’re about to be a little more exposed.”

Her legs parted once he scooted her panties down her hips and thighs; his hands spread to tease her bare flesh on the outside of her legs. Not wanting to stand naked before him, she tugged at his briefs and slipped them down his hard, round ass. He grunted as she petted him, caressed him from his lower back to where his legs and butt met. Each groan and mumbled curse encouraged her to explore him in the twilight.

“Sara.”

“Hmm?” Words no longer seemed possible as he touched her between the thighs, found her wet and more than ready.

“I want you, but if you tell me to do so, I’ll stop.”

She kissed his throat, felt the stubble that hadn’t been there when she’d first seen him. Kiss by kiss, she traveled up the column of his neck to his jaw and rough cheek. The unfamiliar terrain excited her in ways she hadn’t expected, in ways she wasn’t supposed to allow…

Excrpt # 2

This is the first meeting between Sara and Dace

“He’s not yet fully conscious. The brain swells while it’s being fed and maintained, so the surgery scars are still quite fresh and tender. For the first six weeks expect slurred words and a few clumsy moments. He’s not allowed to leave the house for the first fifteen days as he readjusts, which is why he has a monitor on his ankle. This should remain in place until his first check-up. Some people find it cumbersome, especially when they make love for the first time.”

Sara’s cheeks burned as she stared at the man laid out on a cushioned table. She hadn’t immediately thought of their love life considering Dace had been in a state of semi-consciousness for the past sixty days. Her friends had joked that she’d be sleeping with a zombie. They would have a collective stroke when they saw this man.

She also hadn’t expected a nearly naked man presented like a sex buffet.

While Jaycen checked his monitors and fluid drips, Sara stared at him. He was about Nicholas’s build, his shoulders broad enough to reach the sides of the table, his hips tapered and defined—and nothing like Nicholas. Dark briefs revealed a little more than she was comfortable seeing—or so she told herself. That would have to wait until Christmas. No peeking.

Her belly started to tighten at the sight of him, all racehorse thighs and sculpted torso—which she should have expected from picking a Marine officer to replace Nicholas. She was used to six-foot-three and bulky, not sleek and, well, damn…

His eyes twitched beneath his lids, lips struggled to find words. It appeared as though someone had given him a fresh shave as his face was slightly pink. Smooth, she imagined, the perfect surface to run her hand along as she welcomed him.

“He’s waking up,” Sara blurted out as she stepped forward and leaned over him.

“He’s been awake for a while,” Jaycen replied. “It’s you that’s aroused him.”

Aroused. Couldn’t she have used a different word that wasn’t so…arousing?

“Now, with brain trauma or prolonged time in the feeding system, they tend to forget the simpler parts of their lives. He may not respond to his name immediately, but he’ll relearn that with positive reinforcement.”

“Like a dog,” Sara muttered.

“Like new technology has the ability to learn,” Jaycen corrected. “It’s exciting, isn’t it? Look at the advances your field has made.” She placed her clipboard under her arm and squared her shoulders. “I’ll give the two of you a moment before you decide if you want to take him home today or start over.”

Sara waited until Jaycen closed the door before she dared to speak. She knew that her host would be watching from the cameras installed in the walls, listening through the thin, unobtrusive microphones hanging down like spiders from the ceiling.

“Hi,” she said, reaching out to him.

He swallowed and opened his eyes wider, an expression near panic claiming his soft, dark eyes. She’d expected Nicholas’s blue eyes, the familiarity of a man she only had in memory and pictures.

“I’m Sara,” she said, keeping her voice low and pleasant just as the downloads had instructed. Nothing could have prevented the tremble in her words. “Your wife.”

He looked her over, his gaze as unsteady as a newborn. “Sara,” he echoed. The hairs on her arms rose as he spoke her name. He had a deep, scratch of a voice that intrigued her down to the core. That wasn’t how Nicholas called her, but her reaction to it was primal. This is how he would address her now...
